ok party people. there's been something on my mind that really needs to be brought to your attention, and that is...
sequined sweatpants.
i just don't know what to do with these glorious and comfy trousers. although i do love the harem trend (i'd insert mc hammer joke here but i think i was in the womb during his time), i know i'd be taking shit from all my guy friends ever if i were to purchase a pair. furthermore i'm not even sure they're that cool. soo peruse these shiny babies and ponder how awesome the walk of shame would be in sparkly sweats.
the infallible alexander wang (fringey sandals and a leather belly tee? fuck yes!):
j.crew's version, slightly more affordable but tragically less room for big-ballin (my other hobby besides this sham of a blog):
and thanks to l.lo showing us a definite no-no in the genie pants trend:
btw just rewatched "the parent trap" while babysitting yesterday... she is took frickin cute in that shit and her british accent is spot on. no amount of cocaine abuse can ruin the magic of that film.
well off to more babysitting... let me know what you think and also let's brainstorm HALLOWEINER COSTUMES next post. err ok i'll do the brainstorming and maybe jaclyn will comment. enjoy your 10-10-10 friends!

TRIPTOPHAN
so many of my closest friends have decided to embark on life-changing journeys recently, and i'd like to salute them with a measly post on our hilariously low-budge, grammatically outrageous blog. we'll begin with jessica, the other and more hilarious and musically savvy member of this here tribe, who has just arrived in buenos aires with our other friend, the infamous dietz.
here's jessica walking across LAX with her new boyfriend (do you love the strawberry blond locks?):
she'll be spending a month traveling south america, staying at hostels like this:
and eating gelato at places like this, where she'll learn to speak with an argentinian accent:
next on the list is my beloved younger sister, who has decided to spend the rest of her life studying the universe. she's off to london, where she will undoubtedly win over all the nerdy boys in her class, and likely speak too quickly for people to understand her peculiar accent. any recommendations of places to go in LONDRES??
here's a photo of lily allen, who is british and who i love because she is topless nearly constantly with no regard to the fact that she is somewhat famous and will be photographed
nextly i'd like to salute the woman responsible for all the braids i've ever worn in my hair post- 3rd grade, and who did the unthinkable when she forgave me after i ate nearly all of her cheezits which had been flown in from overseas. jaclyn will be traveling to korea in the beginning of the new year, where she will teach english to babies and wow the far east with her sexy white tights. she is also one of three regular readers (after me and jessica).
here's a googled pic of seoul:
while everyone is away, i will be posting erratic and stolen photos and contemplating the next phase of my life. any suggestions of things to do/ places to visit/ people to see in el lay while i embark on this inward journey?
i will also be admiring this woman from afar, the beautiful and gregarious e. jean, advice columnist from elle magazine and my personal hero
and fingers crossed, this delightful gem will make sense in a few posts
so sayonara for a bit. things to consider:
what is the best gelato flavor?
what is the most hilarious thing to say with a british accent?
hasn't everyone known about lincoln park after dark nailpolish for a while now?
and... dressing in south america: is it ever ok to wear purple and red AND a fanny pack?
stay tuned kaitlin, jaclyn, jessica and sarah... it's going to be a month of celina in front of her laptop, bringing you the news you need to know about

fall has fell
looking out the window into a bleary, overcast, 62-degree "freezing" day here in LA, it does in fact seem that fall is upon us. the season of scarves and cigarettes and pumpkin spice candles and back to school shopping!
let's take a cue from the ever adorable audrey hepburn. here she rocks the menswear look even in the summer, complete with adorable pose and candid expression.
of all the trends i drooled over in the fat september issues of vogue and elle and martha stewart living (wait what?), my favorite had to be the resurgence of menswear. heavy overcoats (applicable for los angeles NEVER), pleated trousers, high heeled boots-- what's not to love. here are some of my favorites for fall...
hermes
loewe
just cavalli, featuring the aforementioned shearling jacket
rockstar version by balmain
so while i was journeying across the overgrown forests of upstate new york and western massachusetts, i came across a pair of victorian-esque high heeled boots for a mere $20. obviously i bought them, but the questions remains: what do i wear them with?? so if any of our 4 readers have any suggestions, i'd be very interested. they look a little like this:
speaking of boots, how is it that nicole richie is the one who is behind some of the more amazing everyday boots i've seen?? look at these bad boys
ok and our necessary dose of marykate. i feel like it's just necessary.
big ups to jessica for singlehandedly keeping this blog together. expect photos of a waterfall hike and lots more posting from the more belligerent of this duo.

what time is it chicken?
can't be bothered thinking about my immediate future, but my long term goals of looking like these ladies paints a better picture of my ambitions. 80 = the new prime
maybe I'm on an eccentric old lady binge because we watched "Grey Gardens" last night at Celina's request. I'm sure you've gotta be a little nuts to pull stuff off like this but whatever you're old so you might as well go with it. That's gonna be my excuse anyway. In the mean time maybe I'll try dressing like this
and apparently shearling lined jackets are the shit to own for fall so bust out the ones you owned in 7th grade and enjoy the fact that you invested in a trend that has finally come around full circle.

tip of the tongue taking a trip
summer is almost too good
(**Niel Krug took them there photos)
today we took a trip to the "500 days of summer" park in downtown LA, how appropriate!
super pretty and wonderfully lush. the folliage was nice contrast to the big citay. a place where bums and young professionals alike apparently come to take a breather.. for extended periods of time. we were right in the middle
some oakley ad shit
we grabbed some tacos, burritos, and papusas(sp?) beforehand (of course) and gorged while the bums looked on longingly at our disgusting amounts of food. we purchased pastries as well, all from Grand Central Market. Pretty great place, with pretty great food-eats
any place with sawdust on the floor is bound to be delicious, right? and notice 3/$1 mangoes and cantelope melons! there was a woman decked out in laker gear with dodger flags flying high on her motorized scooter but that picture, by some curse of the devil, won't upload. But we can all close our eyes and visualize

camp beverly hills
jessica also forgot to mention that she takes photos like this of herself in her spare time:
aaaand that she and i go way back, and that she cries when i brush my teeth
and also that she is the one who introduced me to XANADU, the 70's roller disco acid trip of a movie starring olivia newton-john... where would i be without her? also you need to rent this one from your local library and watch it late night and with lots of treats
ok but enough about that. sooo i'm a little late in the game and have been reading the largely overrated yet still somewhat eye-opening memoir "eat, pray love." apparently it has inspired signs such as this in restaurants in india:
anyway, looking for some feedback from all four of our dear and beloved readers. did you read this book? are you sick of hearing about it? will you be seeing the julia roberts movie? i tried to post the trailer on here, but the shots of julia roberts meditating seemed a bit too much to handle before i'd finished my coffee.
ok enough of that. so this month i am starting as a camp counselor at a summer art program. there are 47 (mostly female) high school kids at my disposal, and i am really having a flashback here. they are homesick and catty and excited and lively and always laughing and chatting. i love them all already.
anybody wanna recommend some rad activities for the under-18 crowd? we're taking them for food and museums and concerts but i need as many ideas as possible.
found these photographs and though they had a certain mysteriousness to them
are native american-inspired clothes out?? i feel like they have been absorbed by the hipster crowd but i still rock my moccassins proudly... discuss.
have a lovely day all! lights out by 10:30!!! oh wait jk..

this little flea went to market
fun in the sun at the Fairfax flea market
really great place for style inspiration and apparently, beads
the guy at this booth took a liking to celiner, I'm thinking he's the guy for her because he wasn't turned off by her sass. he tried to get her to buy a locket, hopefully with his picture already securely inside p.s. notice john coltrane, celina you're missing out
this woman does your hair for you, and I'm ok with that
this would have been one of two in a series of sequined apparel but our amigo wasn't so stoked on us snapping pictures of his goods. he redeemed himself by tracking down amigo numero dos so celina could grab some moccasins from his stash. we would have stolen them but apparently there's a heavy bond between flea market sellers, and our karma has already taken enough of a beating
sick delivery tryke
